Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative including angels, demons, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might appear mismatched, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party access areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them few options but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Questers and Planners groups.
